A signal generator for testing extracellular recording amplifiers and probes.
A portable signal generator that simulates the amplitude and frequency of neuronal signals for testing extracellular recording amplifiers is described. The signal generator is easy to construct and it is extremely useful in tracing signal processing stages in neurophysiological equipment.
متن کاملSinusoidal Signal Generator for ADC Testing in Mixed- Signal SOC
Sinusoidal signal can be used as stimulus to test static and dynamic parameters of ADC. A sigma-delta modulation based sinusoidal signal generator for ADC testing in SOC was introduced. The generator was built on the same chip with ADC. A numerical resonator generated a sinusoidal signal which was converted to a single bit stream by a sigma-delta modulator. Due to oversampling, the quantization...
متن کاملA 16 × 16 Multi-electrode Array with Integrated CMOS Amplifiers for Neural Signal Recording
This paper reports on an active 16 x 16, low-noise, low-power, multi-electrode array (MEA) neural sensor chip designed in IBM BiCMOS 8HP 0.13μm process with a total gain of 60 dB per input, a 20 kHz sample rate, an input-referred noise of 5.3 Vrms over 10 Hz to 10 kHz and a total power dissipation of 15.8 mW, or 61.7 W per channel. A C4 microelectrode is attached to the input of each amplifier ...
متن کاملSignal Generator with Minimal Distortion for ADC Testing
The special generator of testing signal was designed for the frequency of 441.171 kHz. The generator consists of the special crystal oscillator and a high power amplifier. The frequency stability of the generator is in order of 10/day, the output power 1W, the value of SINAD is close to 120 dB and the total harmonic distortion under 170 dB by using of linear narrow-band filter.
متن کاملMicrotube-based electrode arrays for low invasive extracellular recording with a high signal-to-noise ratio.
We report on the development of a microtube electrode array as a neural interface device. To combine the desired properties for the neural interface device, such as low invasiveness with a small needle and a good signal-to-noise ratio in neural recordings, we applied the structure of a glass pipette electrode to each microtube electrode. The device was fabricated as sub-5-microm-diameter out-of...
